Hi, I’m Dr. Schaepper

Be Brave, Go There

You will get better. Taking the first step to see a psychiatrist, or a new psychiatrist, is hard. The fact that you are reading this means you are taking action.

So, who am I and what can you expect from me?

Taking on mental health challenges is my passion. I meet you where you are, work with you as a unique person or family, and, together, we will create the results you seek.

I’ve been doing this for 18 years, raised my own family, and respect the families I serve. It’s not easy to ask for help.

“But to sail from any one shore towards another would mean abandoning the others; to stay would mean squandering the chance we were given to leave; to do nothing would be to bury everyone’s dream.”

~Ruth Alanson

Together, we will work to identify the root cause/s of what you are struggling with; then come up with a holistic plan that you embrace.

I will give you direct feedback and offer scientific knowledge, all within an empowering relationship. We will address your psychological well-being, medical health, strengths, social network, and sense of purpose.

I am a trained psychodynamic and dialectical behavioral therapist and utilize these skills, along with psychopharmacology as needed, to realize your optimal mental health.

Professional Background

I am a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. I completed general psychiatry training at Loma Linda University. Then I continued at UCLA with a Child and Adolescent Fellowship where I fine-tuned my current interests in: Treating individuals and families holistically, psychotherapy, autism and intellectual disability, gender dysphoric disorder, women’s issues, depression and anxiety, and leadership challenges.

My background as an elementary and high school teacher early on helped me realize where kids, parents, and teachers often struggle.

I went to medical school in my thirties with a young family and know the challenges of parents in today’s workplace. I have been a psychiatry training director for many years and developed skills to coach people to reach their dreams.

Something Personal

I love to adventure! I am tri-lingual (French, German, and English) and am married to an incredible Swiss man for over 40 years! I understand how challenging and fulfilling marriage can be. I enjoy hearing ways people are shaking things up in their own lives. I also value my patient’s cultural and spiritual experiences.

I look forward to working with you!
